The soldiers of the Syrian army and the militia detachments completely freed on Saturday the military airfield Abu Duhur, 50 km from the city of Idlib, the administrative center of the province of the same name, from bandit formations.
According to reports, the troops defeated the terrorists from the Jebhat al Nusra group on the eastern sector of the front.
During the operation, the army and the militia managed to knock out terrorists from seven villages located in the vicinity of the airfield.
Government forces lost control of this strategic airbase in September 2015.
Three years ago Abu Duhur served as the last springboard of the Syrian army in this north-western region. His siege by bandit formations lasted six months.
