The Russian Foreign Ministry, through diplomatic channels, demanded that the Polish authorities explain the ban on entry into the European Union to Russian political scientist and journalist Oleg Bondarenko, official spokesman for the ministry Maria Zakharova said.
She stressed that, on the basis of available data, this ban is nothing more than an attempt to restrict freedom of speech for political reasons.
Bondarenko on January 14 arrived in Berlin to attend an event organized by the Left Party faction in the Bundestag, but in the evening he was deported to Moscow on the basis of Poland’s request of November 17, 2017.
As a reason for the ban on entry into the territory of the member states of the Schengen zone, there is a “threat to national security”.
