Woman kidnapped, raped and burned alive in Morocco

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — A man kidnapped a young woman in the city of Fes, Morocco, local press reported. The victim was sequestered, raped and burned alive by his abductor. She succumbed to her injuries at Casablanca University Hospital.

In the city of Fez, Morocco, a girl, Hayat, was kidnapped, raped and burned alive by her executioner, local press reported. Supported within the burns department of the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Casablanca, the victim eventually succumbed to his burns.

The Bladi.net news site reported that the young Hayat was kidnapped by an individual during the month of Ramadan as she was returning home to Fez for Eid al-Fitr from Casablanca where she works. Forcibly removed, the girl was taken to an isolated house in the Ouled Taieb area where she suffered the worst physical and sexual abuse before being burned, he said.

It was the perpetrator himself who was taken to the hospital, the media said, indicating that he had claimed that Hayat was his wife and that his burns were caused by the explosion of a bottle of butane gas. However, the victim had given his testimony damaging the version of his executioner, who was arrested by the police.

Investigations by the police in the city of Fez have revealed the presence of other accomplices in this criminal act, including the brother and the wife of the accused. They are prosecuted by justice for non-assistance to person in danger.

Last week, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in Morocco announced in a statement published its Facebook page to be quickly following the sharing of a video on social networks showing a woman being subjected to rape and violence physical.

The communiqué of the DGSN had stated that “this is a case previously handled by the police headquarters of Rabat on June 8, 2019,” stating “that the victim died on June 11 following a complication of his condition health”.

Following a re-release of the video on Monday (July 14th), the same statement said that the prefectural police department of the city of Rabat had opened an investigation to determine the identity of possible accomplices, including individuals who allegedly participated in the rape and filmed the video in question. In this context, the judicial police of Rabat arrested eight other individuals for their alleged involvement in this case.
