UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Founder of Wikileaks Julian Assange arrested for extradition to the US, says the organization’s twitter.
Assange’s lawyer Jennifer Robinson on Twitter confirmed that her client was detained “not only for violating the conditions of release on bail, but also in connection with the US request for extradition.”
On Thursday, British police arrested Assange after the Ecuadorian authorities revoked his right to asylum, thanks to which he lived for seven years in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Assange was sent to the pre-trial detention center, where he will be before he appears before the court.
The issuance of the founder of WikiLeaks is sought by the United States, where he faces a punishment for disclosing secret data from the State Department.
