U.S. Secret Service says the White House on lockdown. A person jumped a fence at the White House on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
At about 4:35 p.m., the U.S. Secret Service said in a Twitter message that a person jumped a bike rack along the north fence line of Pennsylvania Avenue near the White House, and that the person is in custody.
While details are sparse, the U.S. Secret Service has just placed the White House on lockdown. According to Reuters correspondent Jeff Mason, the measure was prompted by yet another fence jumper who has since been taken into custody.
