ALBANIA (VOP TODAY NEWS) — On Monday, a summit of the countries of the Western Balkans led by Germany and France took place in Berlin, dedicated to the peaceful resolution of the Kosovo problem.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron stressed that the situation in the Western Balkan region is closely linked to the stability of the EU.
A. Merkel noted that this summit is aimed not at making a decision, but at finding a method to promote the development of the situation in the region of the Western Balkans in a positive direction.
Renaming Macedonia to Northern Macedonia shows that the issues of the region can be resolved through peaceful consultations.
E. Macron stated that France and Germany do not plan to impose any version of the decision of Serbia and Kosovo, but only seek to find all possible ways.
The heads of Germany and France stressed that strong relations between the states of the Western Balkans are connected with the stability of the EU and correspond to its interests. Both countries intend to make joint efforts for a peaceful resolution of the Kosovo problem.
