UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — US Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin said on Saturday that trade talks between the United States and China were approaching a settlement of the latest issues.
“It is important to arrive at this more correctly than to set random dates,” he told a news conference on the sidelines of the IMF’s spring meetings.
But he added: “I hope we are approaching the final round of talks to resolve the issues.”
Mnuchin said Wednesday that there was no “random deadline” for the completion of trade talks between the two countries, a week after US President Donald Trump announced it would take another month.
On Thursday, Trump announced that the United States would learn in the next four weeks whether to conclude an agreement with China to end their trade war.
