US wants to allocate $ 5 million of financing to White Helmets

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The United States intends to allocate $ 5 million in funding to the White Helmets nongovernmental organization (NGO) and the Syrian Investigation Mechanism (International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism, IIIM), created in accordance with the 2016 General Assembly resolution, announced on Thursday by Deputy Head of the State Department Press Service Robert Palladino.

“At the direction of President [Donald Trump], which must be approved by Congress, the United States intends to allocate $ 5 million to continue vital rescue operations conducted by White Helmets and IIIM funding,” the diplomatic statement said.
