The United States and South Korea will resume joint military exercises after the Paralympic Games, which will end on March 19.
This was stated to journalists on Thursday by Pentagon chief James Mattis in response to a request to comment on the decision taken by President Donald Trump to suspend joint maneuvers in South Korea during the Olympics in Pyeongchang.
According to him, the decision to postpone the exercise was “taken for practical reasons,” not political. Mattis explained that during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, “many logistical and transport tasks” have to be solved, and military exercises could complicate everything.
