UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) – F-22 fighter jets on Friday escorted two groups of Russian reconnaissance planes to the north of Alaska, the US Central Command said.
The source added that each group was composed of two Russian planes. Its flight was recorded in the Air Defense Identification Area, the area around the United States and Canada where full identification and control of flights must be identified.
The command also pointed out that the Russian aircraft did not enter the airspace of America or Canada, confirming that the flights took place in international airspace.
On September 11, US F-22 fighters accompanied two Russian TO-95 bombers near Alaska. The US Air Force carried out the same steps on September 1 after two “To-95” bombers were deployed south of the Aleutian Islands over the Pacific Ocean.
