US Department of Justice will publish ‘Russian report’ on Thursday

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — US Attorney General Robert Mueller’s report on Russia’s intervention in the 2016 presidential election and doubts about President Donald Trump’s obstruction of justice will be published on Thursday, the Justice Department said on Monday.

The 400-page report will be published in a version that does not include its confidential data, more than three weeks after Justice Minister Bill Bar issued a four-page summary confirming that Mueller concluded there was no evidence of complicity between Russia and Trump.

Barr, however, pointed out that Mueller did not take any position on the evidence in terms of obstruction of justice, raising doubts about whether the report actually cleared the president.

Shortly after the Justice Minister’s summary was published, Trump considered the report as a complete acquittal.

The Democrats are asking for the 400-page Muller report, which they consider could contain hard evidence against the president.

But Barr confirmed he would publish a copy of the report that did not include the intelligence and confidential data collected by Muller’s investigation.

Critics say these data are essential to find out if there is any evidence against Trump.

Trump and the White House have criticized the basis for the investigation. The US president considers the investigation to include biased investigators and illegal spying on his campaign by the FBI.

The two, Trump wrote on Twitter, said that “it was more useful than the Mueller report, which was drafted by 18 angry Democrats who claimed to be Trump haters (and Clinton supporters) to focus on those who espoused my campaign in 2016 and others who fabricated Russia’s trick.”

“Since there was no complicity, the investigation was not in place,” he said. “The answer is (because of) corrupt police, Democrats and a fraudulent Hillary.”
