The United Nations has called on Saudi Arabia to end a “catastrophic” blockade on Yemen which has further threatened millions of people facing famine-like conditions.
Spokesman for the UN humanitarian office, Jens Laerke, says the blockade has disrupted the flow of humanitarian aid into Yemen, which is dealing with the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
The World Health Organization has also criticized Saudi Arabia’s move to tighten its blockade on Yemen.
The UN agency says the ban will hinder efforts to fight the cholera epidemic in the country.
Doctors without Borders also says its humanitarian flights to the Yemeni capital Sana’a have been canceled.
On Sunday, Riyadh announced shutting down all Yemen’s air, sea, and land border.
In response, Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has threatened to target Saudi Arabia and UAE’s ports and airports.
