UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern on Saturday over violent clashes in the Yemeni city of Aden and urged a cessation of hostilities.
In a statement, Guterres called on the parties to the conflict to “conduct a comprehensive dialogue to resolve their differences and address the legitimate concerns of all Yemenis.”
Medical sources said on Friday that at least eight civilians were killed in Aden, the temporary seat of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, amid renewed clashes between southern separatists and government forces.
