Two US spy planes intercepted over Crimea

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — According to the Iranian news agency ILNA, Moscow’s radar control center has announced that a P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine warplane, numbered 169004, has taken off from the island’s Sigonella base. Italian, and flew over the Black Sea before reaching the shores of the Crimean peninsula.

Subsequently, another aircraft equipped with the Lockheed AP-3E Orion electronic control system, numbered 156511, flew over the Black Sea coast in Russia.

On March 18, 2014, five years ago, Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula, which had been attached to Ukraine since the 1950s, in response to an attempt to overthrow its president.

By 2018, the Russian Aerospace Forces had detected and intercepted more than 980,000 aircraft flying along Russian borders, including nearly 3,000 foreign military aircraft, including more than 1,000 reconnaissance aircraft.

Despite repeated calls from Moscow, Washington refuses to end its reconnaissance operations near Russian borders.
