Two civilians were killed in a suicide bombing in Sinai

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Two people were killed in a suicide bombing in northern Sinai, Egypt, where armed groups were operating, according to security and medical sources.

The sources said that the bomb attack targeted security personnel were in a parking lot in the city of Sheikh Zuweid, killing one and wounding three others.

A civilian was also killed in the attack, which no one has yet claimed responsibility for.

Neither the army nor the Egyptian Interior Ministry issued any comment on the information.

In February 2018, the Egyptian army launched a large-scale counterterrorism operation in northern Sinai. About 650 extremist militants and about 50 Egyptian soldiers were killed in the operation.
