The ground operation of the Turkish Armed Forces in Syrian Afrin can be started on Sunday, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said on Saturday.
Earlier on Saturday, the Turkish General Staff announced the launch of Operation Olive Branch against the armed groups of Kurds in Syrian Africa. The operation began at 14.00.
According to the General Staff, 72 aircraft participated in it, 108 of 113 targets were hit.
“Today, our aviation has hit most of the targets, and tomorrow, depending on the circumstances, our ground forces will do the necessary work, they will work together with the (opposition) Free Syrian Army,” Yildirim told reporters in Ankara.
