Turkish warplanes bombarded overnight on Thursday the border areas of Kurdistan Region, allegedly targeting the positions belonging to the Kurdistan Workers Party.
The bombardment is focused on the rural areas of Amedi district in Duhok Province, said Mahmoud Niheli, an official from the area.
The residents of the nearby villages had already escaped their homes as the area has always been a potential target for the Turkish airpower, Niheli added.
