UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — US President Donald Trump has announced that he will send an additional 1,500 US troops to the Middle East after rising tensions with Iran.

Trump stressed that the task of these additional forces to be deployed would be for preventive purposes.

US President Donald Trump said earlier that there was no need to send additional US troops to the Middle East because of Iran, declaring his readiness to take this step when necessary.

Days later, US Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan confirmed that his country was already considering sending additional troops to the Middle East.
