UNITED STATES – The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to privatize the International Space Station, writes The Washington Post on Sunday.

After 2024, Washington is going to stop financing the ISS on the NASA line. But at the same time, the US does not want to abandon the orbital station and therefore plans to withdraw it to the private sector.

According to the prepared project documentation, representatives of any industrial branch can take over the management of certain elements or functions of the ISS on a commercial platform.

In the draft budget for the fiscal year 2019 (beginning October 1), which will be published on Monday, February 12, the US administration plans to request $ 150 million to “ensure the development and establishment of commercial structures and opportunities” for further privatization of the ISS, the US publication states.
