UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — President Donald Trump may sign an official document recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights during a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington, a US administration official said.

US officials are working on a formal document on recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights and Trump could sign it next week, the official said.

The White House has announced that US President Donald Trump will receive Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on March 25 and 26, to discuss the common interests of both countries and the situation in the Middle East.

This comes in the wake of Trump’s announcement Thursday that it is “time” for Washington to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan since 1967.
