US President Donald Trump does not think that the famous American TV presenter Oprah Winfrey will take part in the presidential race. The American leader said this on Tuesday during a meeting with congressmen in the White House.
A shorthand record of his statements was disseminated by the presidential pool of journalists.
“Oprah will be fun, I watched one of her last shows, I like Oprah,” he said. “I do not think she plans to participate in the race,” Trump added.
Earlier close friend of the leading Gale King on the air of the American television channel CBS reported that Winfrey was seriously interested in the possibility of running for the presidential election.
The opportunity to participate in the election of 63-year-old Winfrey in American media began to be discussed right after she appeared on Sunday night in Los Angeles at the 75th Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
Winfrey then expressed solidarity with the members of the movement against sexual violence, united under the hashtag #MeToo, and stated that for them “a new day is coming.” She also stressed that women should seek leadership positions.
Winfrey is considered one of the most famous and wealthy public figures in the United States.
