US President Donald Trump believes that a positive relationship can be established between him and the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, he said: “I may have very good relations with Kim Jong-un. I maintain relations with people.”
“I think you’re surprised,” Trump added.
In addition, when asked if he had to talk with the leader of the DPRK, the US president evasively replied that he did not want to comment on this.
As it was reported, at the end of November last year the situation on the Korean peninsula again became aggravated after Pyongyang carried out another missile launch, during which an intercontinental ballistic missile of the new type Khwason-15 was tested.
As a result of the launch it was announced that this missile could carry a nuclear warhead, and in the zone of its reach is the entire territory of the United States.
In response to the actions of the DPRK, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution on toughening sanctions against North Korea, which introduce new restrictions on the supply of Pyongyang crude oil and its processed products.
