UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — China is still interested in a trade deal with the United States, US President Donald Trump said on Monday during a conversation with journalists.
“I think China wants this (trade deal) because many companies have started to leave China,” Trump said.
He added that the United States is “in a good position” because it will receive “a huge amount of money that will come to the country” thanks to the fees. The US President noted that he had not yet finally decided whether he would impose duties on goods from China for another 325 billion dollars.
Earlier, the next round of the US-China trade negotiations ended in vain: the United States increased duties on Chinese imports in the amount of about $ 200 billion a year to 25% from 10%.
In response, on Monday, the Ministry of Finance of China reported that from June 1, increased duties on the importation of goods from the US in the amount of 60 billion dollars are being introduced. US President Donald Trump also ordered the start of a process to increase duties on all remaining imports from China, estimated at about $ 300 billion.
