UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The British parliament on Tuesday approved Prime Minister Theresa May’s plan to seek a postponement of Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union until June 30, while trying to compromise with the opposition Labor Party for parliament’s approval of an agreement it reached.

The deputies voted 420 to 110 in favor of the government proposal.

The government was forced to vote after parliament passed a law on Monday granting it the power to scrutinize and amend the government’s request to extend the negotiation period for a second time.
