The moment of the arrest of Assange, unrecognizable, in an embassy in London (VIDEO)

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Julian Assange was filmed this April 11 at the exit of the Embassy of Ecuador in London, where the British police came to arrest him. WikiLeaks says the Ecuadorian ambassador has “invited” the police to stop the whistleblower.

Refugee since 2012 at the Embassy of Ecuador in London, Julian Assange was arrested on Thursday by the British police. The moment when the founder of WikiLeaks left the diplomatic representation under police escort was recorded in video.

Previously, Wikileaks had announced on his Twitter account that Julian Assange could be expelled from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London “in a few hours or days”. The Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had described this information as “rumor”.

As a reminder, in 2012, Julian Assange found asylum at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London in order to escape extradition to Sweden where he was wanted for rape and sexual assault.

Although the lawsuit was discontinued in 2017, the Westminster Court upheld the arrest warrant against Assange, stating that it had been issued after he violated his bail conditions.

Julian Assange fears, in case of arrest, to be extradited to the United States where he is prosecuted for the disclosure of many US military secrets and diplomatic documents.
