Syrian Army controls an opposition pocket in Hama countryside

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The Syrian army has wrested control of an enclave of land in the northwest of the country from the grip of the opposition, which has controlled the area since the early years of the war, the state news agency SANA reported on Friday.

State media and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said government forces had been advancing in a range of towns and suburbs in Hama countryside since the morning, encircling opposition fighters and a Turkish military post there.
