The Syrian army continues its advance on the positions of the “Sham Liberation Organization” militants, which form the “Front of Victory”, its backbone at the administrative border between the governorates of Hama and Idlib.
The official SANA news agency quoted a military source as confirming that the army and its allies had taken control of the towns of Atshan, Hamdaniya, Saloumiya, Abu Omar and Nasiriyah.
The source said the army units seized control of the hills of thyme and broth and Jduah “terrorist groups after the incurrence significant losses to individuals and gear amid a major breakdown in morale and fleeing in front of the Syrian Arab Army strikes.”
SANA said the engineering units were combing liberated areas and dismantling mines and explosive devices left by gunmen on roads, axes and installations.
The progress came a day after the army restored the village of Abu Dali in the countryside of Hama after the elimination of the last group of militants “Nusra”.
In turn, opposition activists said that fierce clashes spin since the dawn of the day between government forces and insurgents on the axes in the countryside of the south-east of Idlib and Hama north-east, asserting control over the army Thirsty and other villages in the region.
The activists said that the government forces led by Brig. Suhail Hassan continue to advance in conjunction with the intensification of aerial and missile bombardment of the sites of the militants, where they recorded more than two thousand raids during the past six days.
The activists warned that the organization “Daesh” is trying to exploit the fighting in the province, stressing the outbreak of clashes on Friday between the militants “Nusra” and “Daesh” in the area of Abu Khrenim in the north-eastern Hama, but without reports of losses between the parties.
It is noteworthy that the north-eastern Hama countryside is still one of the hottest fighting fronts between the Syrian army and the Sham Liberation Organization. The group led by Brigadier Suhail al-Hassan managed to thwart progress in the first half of this year and free a series of strategic towns.
The Syrian leadership sent the “tiger” group to the province again, after successfully accomplishing its operations in the operations against the organization “Daesh” in the provinces of Homs and Deir al-Zour.
