SYRIA – The Lebanese channel Al-Mayadeen announced that Syrian air defense had intercepted and repulsed Israeli reconnaissance planes at Quneitra.
Israeli army planes violated Syrian airspace near the Golan Heights in Quneitra on Wednesday evening, 14 February. In retaliation, the Syrian anti-aircraft defense fired, forcing aircraft to leave the Syrian skies.
On February 10, the Israeli army bombed Syrian army positions in Syria. The Syrian DCA shot down an Israeli F-16 near al-Jalil, Golan.
The Tel Aviv regime claims that its attack of February 10 was the result of an Iranian drone’s incursion into the airspace of the occupied territories. The Iranian authorities immediately rejected these accusations.
The Syrian army, which has already warned Israel against the impact of any strikes on its territory, has claimed responsibility for the destruction of the Israeli F-16. Army announced that the drone referred to by Israeli officials was a Syrian unmanned aircraft that collected intelligence about terrorist groups.
This is the first time since the Israeli-Lebanese war in 1982, that the Tel Aviv regime loses a device in combat.
The Syrian government has repeatedly announced that the Israeli regime and its regional and Western allies support the terrorist groups that have insurgent against the government of Damascus.
Many convoys of Israeli-made weapons and ammunition to rebel groups have been discovered by Syrian forces.
