UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — In the wake of their clean-up operations in the north of the country, Syrian forces have just regained control of one of the most important terrorist bases.

According to Mashregh News, 10 days have passed since the start of the clean-up operations in northern Hama and southern Idlib and the army’s progress is being made on the various fronts.

According to the latest information, a breakthrough is taking place right now in the northern suburbs of the city of Qalat Mudiq, itself located in northwestern Hama province, which is the first axis of operations. Regarding the details of this latest operation, a field source reported:

“The Syrian army’s ballistic and artillery units initially targeted terrorist positions in the city of al-Huwais.”

The Iranian news agency Mashregh News reported that after several hours of fierce fighting, Syrian forces had managed to roll back the terrorists and completely liberate the city of Huwaiz.

The terrorists then fled towards the center of the al-Ghab plain. The army will continue its operation until the complete liberation of this plain and until it reaches the western gate of the city of Idlib. During the cleanup of Huwaiz, dozens of terrorist elements from abroad, including Albanians, were killed.

Several terrorists were also injured, not to mention the relatively heavy damage to their military equipment. Among the wounded terror leaders is Abu Mohammad, a commander of the Jaïch al-Izza group.

Mashregh News reported that army operations continue in the north and north-west of Hama (al-Mascaceneh, Latmana, al-Sharia, al-Hawija …) as well as in southern Idlib (Badama, al-Habit, Shirmaqaz).

For their part, the terrorists fired rockets at army positions and residential areas in northern Hama and western Aleppo. A large number of civilians were killed or injured during the strikes on Aleppo neighborhoods, including Jamiliya.
