SPD decided to join the negotiations on the government of Germany

The congress of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) voted to start negotiations with the CDU / CSU alliance on the formation of the government.

“A significant majority -” for “- said the representative of the party.

The Social Democrats at the forum agreed to the talks “with an open result.”

In the September elections to the Bundestag, the SPD received only 20.5% of the vote, which is the lowest result in the history of the association. The party refused to participate in the government.

Nevertheless, the negotiations on the formation of the Cabinet between the largest political associations – CDU / CSU, the Free Democratic Party and the Greens – failed.

As it was reported, several parliamentary parties in Germany, after the failure of the talks, spoke in favor of early elections. Chancellor Angela Merkel sees no need for them , but is skeptical of the “minority government”.
