Source: Trump has not withdrawn sanctions on two Chinese shipping companies

File Fox News

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — President Donald Trump has not abolished sanctions on two Chinese shipping companies for helping North Korea evade sanctions, a well-informed US administration source said.

The source was responding to questions about Trump’s tweet on Twitter earlier on Friday in which he said he had ordered the withdrawal of sanctions announced by the Treasury Department, a statement apparently referring to a declaration on Thursday of sanctions against shipping companies accused of helping North Korea to evade of the sanctions imposed on it because of its nuclear weapons program.

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the tweet was meant to refer to a decision not to impose additional large-scale sanctions on North Korea at this time.
