UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Air strikes targeted ammunition depots for the Islamic state on Sunday as troops launched an offensive on the last militant enclave in Baghuoz near the Iraqi border, said Mustafa Bali, director of the media center for the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The attack began at 6 pm (1600 GMT), Bali said in a tweet on Twitter. “The direct clashes are violent.”
