UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) – Scientists at the University of Washington, Washington, have found that the Martian surface contains materials that can be used to make rocket fuel.
“Recent studies have shown that Martian soil contains many chemicals that can be used to produce fuel for space rockets. For example, perchlorate esters can be recycled to produce high-quality rocket fuel,” Science magazine quoted scientists as saying.
Other studies by scientists at the university have shown that the atmosphere of this planet contains compounds of nitrogen, oxygen and argon gas, which can also be used to produce fuel for missiles.
The results come at a time when several bodies such as the European Space Agency and the European Space Agency and Russian “Ross Cosmos” intention to invade Mars in the coming years, and the establishment of bases and centers of astronauts on the surface.
