UNITED STATES (VOP) – The use of drugs based on paracetamol can lead to a violation of human reproductive function and problems with the development of the fetus, notes the journal EBioMedicine.
The researchers conducted a study in which 455 volunteers aged over 18 took part, and also studied archival materials of a survey of 1,880 European twins and 1,235 people with African American and Spanish roots.
All patients who took paracetamol-based medicines noted the depletion of sex hormones, equivalent to aging of the body at the hormone level for 35 years, RIA Novosti reported.
The use of paracetamol leads to depletion of the placenta and impairment of sexual functions. In addition, the use of paracetamol during pregnancy increases the risk of miscarriage and the development of problems associated with the development of the nervous system of the embryo.
Paracetamol is a widely used analgesic, which has an antipyretic effect. In Western countries, this drug is known as Acetaminophen (APAP).
