Russian tanks on their way to Idlib

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — A marine observer, Yoruk Isik, reported yesterday, Thursday, August 22, that a large Russian tank carrying tanks was heading for the Syrian port city of Tartous.

According to Isik, a large Russian ship of the 197th brigade of the Black Sea Fleet was seen crossing the Bosphorus Strait towards the port of Tartous in western Syria.

As Isik pointed out, the Russian ship probably carries tanks for the Syrian army that is participating in a large-scale military operation in the provinces of Idlib, Hama and Latakia.

In recent days, the Syrian army has managed to record several victories in the province of Idlib, the most important of which is the liberation of the city of Khan Cheikhoun.

The liberation of Khan Cheikhoun and several of his neighboring towns has resulted in the complete encirclement of terrorists in the northern countryside of Hama province.

The Syrian Army has also successfully cut off the Turkish army’s main supply route to its Morek observation post in northern Hama.

In addition, the army has targeted its heavy automatic weapons the 9th observation post of the Turkish army, near the town of Maarat al-Nouman, north of Khan Cheikhoun. The shooting of the Syrian army did not make any loss among the Turkish soldiers.

Clashes continue in northern Syria where the army continues its breakthrough south of the province of Idlib.

“Turkey will maintain its presence at the 9th Observation Post in the Syrian town of Morek, although the Syrian Army has regained control of the city of Khan Cheikhoun, located in the northwestern province of Idlib. August 22, Hami Aksoy, a spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry, said Thursday.

“The 9th observation post of the city of Morek remains in its original position despite the fall of the city. The Syrian army has regained control of the city of Khan Sheikhoun, “added Aksoy.

A local military source said Wednesday (August 21st) that Syrian troops had completely encircled the cities of Latamne, Kafr Zita, Latmin and Morek in the north of Hama province.

The province of Idlib is the last bastion of terrorists in Syria. Under the control of the al-Nusra Front since 2015, the province has hosted terrorists from other areas already liberated by the army.
