Russian: Militants are trying to expand their control areas in Idlib

In a press briefing on Saturday, the head of the center, General Alexei Pachin, said that “terrorist groups … are mobilizing their battalions in the southern part of the de-escalation zone in Idlib.”

He explained that the organization of “HTS” has been transporting about 120 gunmen, three armored vehicles and four pickups with heavy machine guns from Hayesh town in the southern countryside of Idlib to the line of contact with Syrian government forces.

He said that the extremist group “Caucasus Agnad” transported about 200 gunmen, 5 armored vehicles, 10 pickups with machine guns and two car bombs to the contact line.

The head of the office, which is based in Hmeimim Russian Air Base (Latakia countryside), that “the terrorists mobilized, in the area of ​​the village of Kinda, about 150 armed elements of the Islamic Party of Turkistan, and 13” pickups “equipped with mortars, rocket launchers and heavy machine guns.

Gen. Pachin also said that the militants carried out 24 shelling operations in the governorates of Aleppo, Latakia and Idlib during the past 24 hours.
