UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — A spokesman for the Russian Federation of the Far East said that its engineers, in cooperation with scientists of Kazan Technological University, devised a new type of concrete.
The concrete is extremely durable and can be used in the Arctic.
The spokesman said that the concrete does not crack nor leak water. It is characterized by superior frost resistance and is suitable for the construction of facilities in the regions of the Arctic and the far north of Russia.
The durability of the new concrete, achieved 28 days after pouring, is 3.3 times higher than the classical concrete mix. Its resistance to frost increased 3-fold. Its water resistance also increased 4-fold.
Scientists pointed out that the new concrete increases environmental cleanliness than classical. It does not need heat treatment to prevent heat from being released into the atmosphere. The energy costs required for concrete preparation were reduced by 70%.
The source pointed out that the technology to produce such concrete can be applied in ordinary laboratories at low cost.
