UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) – Photos of a Russian Tu-142 anti-ship plane over the Norwegian Sea were posted on the Net. The aircraft was filmed flying over the USS Mount Whitney of the United States Navy, which housed the command of the military maneuvers of NATO Trident Juncture 2018.

While organizers of the 2019 NATO Trident Juncture military maneuver announced they spotted a Russian Tu-142MK over the USS Mount Whitney amphibious ship on Friday, footage of the flight in question was released on Saturday.

In particular, it was reported on the official Twitter account of the Trident Juncture 2018 exercises that a Russian Tu-142MK had flown over, at low altitude, the USS Mount Whitney amphibious ship from which command of the Atlantic Alliance maneuvers was ensured.

Two Tornado fighters from the UK Royal Navy took off on Friday during the day to identify the target over the Norwegian and northern seas.

The Russian Defense Ministry said two Tu-142 russians flew over the neutral waters of the Norwegian Sea on November 2 and that the flight lasted more than 12 hours. The military department pointed out that the flights had been carried out in full compliance with the international rules of airspace use without violation of the borders of other countries.
