Russian airstrikes on the military positions of the Islamic State (IS, ISIS/ISIL) group and Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in Syria have left thousands of terrorists dead and wounded in less than two weeks, Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday, as cited by Fars news agency.
A sum of 2,359 terrorists of the Islamic State and Al-Nusra Front have been killed and over 2,700 others have been wounded in the Russian airstrikes across Syrian from September 19 to September 29, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“The Islamic State and Al-Nusra Front Terrorist groups have sustained their most serious losses for the last several months; due to the effective operations of the Russian forces, they have been seriously weakened,” the ministry’s statement said.
