Russia: US missile deployment in Asia would pose a threat

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The possible deployment of US missiles in the Asia-Pacific region would pose a threat to international security, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said this month he supported the deployment of land-based medium-range missiles in Asia relatively soon.

“US actions are a threat to international security,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a weekly television briefing.
