Russia says it foiled an attack on its main air base in Syria

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday it had repulsed a drone attack on its main airbase in Syria over the weekend and accused fighters from what was known as the Nusra Front responsible for the attack.

The agency quoted the ministry as saying it had dropped six rockets fired at the Khmeimim Air Base in the Syrian province of Latakia.
