RUSSIA (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The aerospace forces of the Russian Federation (VKS) conducted a successful launch of the Rokot carrier rocket from the Plesetsk cosmodrome and put three satellites into orbit.

“Today at 05 hours 28 minutes Moscow time from the State test cosmodrome Plesetsk in the Arkhangelsk region combat crew of the Space Forces of the VCS successfully launched a Rokot light-class launch vehicle with a spacecraft unit in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the Defense Ministry said.

All pre launch operations and the start of “Rokot” were in normal mode.

Two minutes after the launch, the Rokot launch vehicle was taken to escort by means of the ground automated control complex of the German Titov Main Test Space Center.

At the estimated time, three spacecraft of the Ministry of Defense of Russia were put into the calculated orbit and taken to control ground-based facilities of the Space Forces of the VKS.

A stable telemetric connection is established and maintained with spacecraft. The onboard systems of the spacecraft function normally.

This is the second launch of the Rokot light-class launch vehicle from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in 2018. The previous launch of the Rokot took place in April this year.

The Rokot light class launch vehicle was created as part of a conversion program based on an intercontinental RS-18 ballistic missile.
