Russia praised US pressure on Huawei

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — US pressure on the Chinese company Huawei has forced China to develop the self-sufficiency and independence of its operating system, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

“This is absolutely obvious, they put them, our American friends, in a situation where our Chinese friends will do everything to make their system independent, self-sufficient. They thought about it before, no doubt about it. But now they will do everything for this “Whatever they do with respect to Huawei, it’s now clear that the Rubicon has been crossed,” Medvedev said.

We were talking about the competitive advantages of operating systems for mobile platforms during a visit to the Kazan College of Information Technologies and Communications.

The head of the Russian government visited the laboratory for the development of software solutions for business. The winners of various WorldSkills championships and stages told him about how they are currently developing their own mobile applications.

Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan for Informatization and Communications, noted that at present “the ecosystem of creating mobile applications will grow, as evidenced by the peculiar confrontation between the American authorities and the Chinese company, which led to the development of the third new operating system in the world.

The U.S. administration accuses Huawei of collaborating with the military and intelligence of the PRC and possibly spying on customers. The United States also convinces a number of countries not to use the infrastructure and equipment of Huawei in the transition to the 5G cellular standard. The US Department of Commerce in May put Huawei on the black list, which blocks its path to buying components and technologies from US manufacturers.
