UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — In Sochi, Russian and Chinese foreign ministers spoke of an extension of Sino-Russian strategic and military cooperation. This extensive military cooperation is now evident in both Syria and Venezuela. Are China and Russia preparing to face a new US tour de force in Venezuela?

“Beijing and Moscow have strengthened cooperation and continue to work for international peace and stability. Russian-Chinese cooperation is a key factor in maintaining international security and stability and in establishing a multipolar world system,” Sergei Lavrov said during his meeting with his Chinese counterpart in Sochi on Monday 13 May.

According to Lavrov, China is a key partner for Russia in the international arena, and Sino-Russian cooperation is paying off on various scenes such as the United Nations, the G20, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (OGS), and BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa).

The Russian minister has not forgotten to focus also on the synergy on both sides within the Eurasian Economic Union (UEEA) and in the framework of the project “A belt, a road”, to plead in favor of a Eurasian partnership.

Mr. Lavrov added: “We are proud to carry out technical-military cooperation with China and cooperation between the security services of the two countries in the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime”.

Observers consider these remarks particularly significant as the United States continues to expand its terrorist networks in Central Asia, both at the gates of Russia and China. Some analysts believe that China’s further engagement in Syrian and Middle Eastern issues has already resulted in the emergence of the “North Korean” factor in Syria.

In Venezuela, the Beijing-Moscow cooperation has so far managed to overthrow attempts to destabilize the US against the Venezuelan state and this cooperation is becoming stronger.

In this sense, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in his meeting with Lavrov that in the context of international instability Russia and China should strengthen their cooperation.

He argued that good relations between China and Russia had been established despite the confused situation in the world. Yang YI denounced the unilateral actions that hit hard the criteria of international relations: “Indeed, the slander has become a pretext to engage in provocations. These slanderings after being repeatedly used are supposedly a proof, whereas such an approach leads nowhere on the international scene, “lamented the Chinese party in reference to the open conflict with the United States before emphasizing:” It is common in China to say that the bigger a country is, the greater its responsibility, but unfortunately today we see that a big one like the United States is not behaving like a responsible country.

“Given the international instability, China and Russia owed as two great countries responsible strengthen their strategic cooperation,” said the head of Chinese diplomacy. No press conference was held after the meeting between the Russian and Chinese Foreign Ministers.

The themes that were discussed during this one-on-one meeting were the means to preserve the overall plan of joint action (nuclear agreement concluded on June 15, 2015), the Crimea issue, the situation in Afghanistan and the Venezuelan and Syrian crisis, both where the two powers intend to face the Americans. Syrian-Russian economic cooperation has increased in recent years. The volume of trade between them amounts to 100 billion dollars.
