Rouhani calls for US to be prosecuted for economic sanctions

IRAN (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Monday stressed the need to prepare a lawsuit against those who impose economic sanctions on Iran and support and contribute to it.

The Iranian president ordered a news conference today after a meeting of the Council of Ministers headed by the formation of an Iranian legal delegation to work on a lawsuit against those who supported and contributed to the imposition of economic sanctions on Iran.

“The Americans think that through these policies and sanctions they can return to Iran,” he said. “They want to control the country’s goods and the interests of the people, but this goal will not be realized and they will not succeed in what they are doing.”

Rohani added that “the enemies are trying hard to block Iran’s progressive progress, and to disrupt the normal life of citizens,” referring to the exit of the United States of America from the nuclear agreement and the re-imposition of sanctions on Tehran.
