UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Doha expressed its concern about the current events in the Strait of Hormuz, and the previous events affecting maritime navigation regionally and internationally.
“The State of Qatar is cautiously monitoring the recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz and previous events affecting both regional and international shipping lines, and we stress the need to contain these events urgently,” the Qatari foreign ministry said in a statement.
“At a time when we express our concern, the State of Qatar calls on all parties to exercise restraint and work to find a peaceful way out of these events.”
Following the announcement of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards detained a British oil tanker in the Straits of Hormuz, “for not to comply” with the laws of navigation.
