Pyongyang accuses US of obstructing negotiations and announces he is ready for anything

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — North Korea is ready for both dialogue and military confrontation with the United States.

According to KCNA, North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho said on Friday (August 23rd) that Pyongyang was ready for dialogue as well as a confrontation with the United States, warning Washington that retaining sanctions would be serious. miscalculation.

Talks between the United States and North Korea have not yet resumed after the failure of the second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi in February.

Trump and Kim met again in June at the inter-Korean border and agreed to reopen negotiations but this has not happened yet.

“If the United States always dreams of getting everything with sanctions, we have to let them do it or break it,” he said.

“We are ready for dialogue and confrontation. If the United States tried to confront us with sanctions and not abandon its conflicting attitude, then it would be a miscalculation on their part, “he added.

He also accused US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo of casting a shadow over US-North Korean talks, saying Pompeo was more interested in his political ambitions than in current US foreign policy.

In an interview with the media this week, Mike Pompeo warned North Korean officials against the harshest sanctions in history while trying to persuade them to opt for denuclearization.

US envoy Stephen Biegun, who heads the talks with North Korea, arrived in Seoul on Tuesday to discuss a new round of dialogue.

“Negotiations on denuclearization should be reopened soon,” said Kim Hyun-chong, assistant advisor on national security in South Korea.
