Poroshenko said he was shocked by the situation around Saakashvili

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, commenting on the situation around the former governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, said he was stunned and shocked. This was reported by Russian media.

“I thought it was hard to surprise me. But what the whole country saw yesterday was stunned and shocked,” quotes the Ukrainian leader of UNN.

According to him, the activists who broke up the camp near the building of the Verkhovna Rada are a “gop-company”.

“I thank the SBU and the GPU for their professional work to protect the national interests of the state. <…> The president and the government respect the right of citizens to peaceful protest, unlike the organizers who crave blood, which provoked siloviki, “Poroshenko noted.

Earlier, Saakashvili called on Poroshenko to stop provocations in connection with the attempted assault on the tent camp near the Rada.

On December 5, Saakashvili was detained, but supporters of the ex-governor beat him off from law enforcement officers, and then went to the center of Kiev to demand impeachment of the president.
