The Pentagon said that the rapid release of Syria from terrorists – merit the United States, while there they noted that the Syrian and Russian sides “did not demonstrate a serious approach or obligations to defeat the Islamic state (IS).”
“The Syrian regime and the Russian Federation have not demonstrated a serious approach or obligations to defeat the IS. They carried out only a small part of the operations against the IS, and most of the territory liberated in Iraq and Syria was liberated thanks to the efforts of the global coalition and its partners,” the Pentagon reports.
They also added that the global coalition will “continue operations in Syria in support of local forces on the ground in order to complete the rout of the IS and stabilize the liberated territory.”
“And this, in turn, will allow the Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons to return to their homes,” the agency representative Erik Peh told the agency.
In addition, the US Defense Ministry did not comment on the report of the Russian Defense Ministry on the imminent release of terrorists from Syria to the east of the Euphrates River, the agency reports.
Earlier, representative of the Russian group of forces, Major-General Yevgeny Poplavsky, at the first meeting of the delegates of the Eastern Territories Management Committee of the Euphrates said that the territory of Syria to the east of the Euphrates in the coming days will be completely freed from terrorists.
