Palestinian President: US no longer eligible for peace care

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that the United States, after its decision to consider the city of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, is no longer qualified to sponsor the peace process.

Abbas welcomed the large international consensus condemning the American decision, which was witnessed by the UN Security Council session this evening, which was held to discuss the repercussions of the American decision.

Abbas stressed that this international consensus “is a message of strong support for the rights of the Palestinian people and its just cause in its land, especially the city of East Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Palestine.”

He stressed the Palestinian position rejecting this resolution, and continuing his efforts, contacts and efforts to counter this resolution, pointing out his absolute rejection of what was stated by US Ambassador Nicky Healy during the meeting of the Security Council.
